Soul Witness, The Brookline Holocaust Witness Project

Soul Witness is a documentary film based on more than 80 hours of Holocaust testimonies conducted 30 years ago by Lawrence Langer, one of the world’s foremost authorities on Holocaust testimonies. The interview tapes sat in a metal closet before they were rescued for the making of this film.

Witnesses describe their lives before the war, growing intolerance; their lives during the war and the affect their experiences still had on them at the time of the interviews. Some witnesses survived death camps, some hid, others fought in resistance movements and many saved the lives of others. The stories and lessons these courageous survivors shared decades ago are needed now more than ever.

Soul Witness will be available on April 20, Holocaust Remembrance Day (Yom HaShoah).

30% of all sales in New England and New York will be donated to the Combined Jewish Philanthropies Coronavirus Emergency Fund. 100% of the money raised from the fund will support community members facing hardship as a result of this pandemic.
